• Email address (used for authentication via magic link or one-time passcode)
• Account preferences and settings (language, preferred AI model)

Uploaded Documents

• PDF files you upload for translation are processed in-memory on our servers
• Original files are deleted immediately after text extraction
• Translated output files are stored temporarily in secure cloud storage for download

Payment Information

• Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe
• We do not store your credit card number, CVC, or billing address on our servers
• We receive only a payment confirmation, subscription status, and Stripe customer ID

Usage Data

• Translation history (source/target language, page count, AI model used, timestamps)
• Credit usage and subscription tier
• Basic analytics data (page views, feature usage) collected via Google Analytics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and improve our PDF translation service
• Authenticate your identity and manage your account
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Track credit usage and enforce plan limits
• Send transactional emails (e.g., login links, translation completion notifications)
• Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve performance and reliability
• Prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage & Security

• All data transfers use TLS encryption (HTTPS)
• Authentication is managed by Supabase with magic link and OTP-based login — we never store passwords
• Uploaded PDFs are processed in-memory and are not written to permanent disk storage
• Translated files are stored in Supabase Storage with row-level security and auto-expire after a limited retention period
• If you provide your own API key (BYO Key), it is stored encrypted in our database and used only for your translation requests

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate TransDocs. Each has its own privacy policy:

• AI Providers (Anthropic/Claude, OpenAI/GPT, Google/Gemini, OpenRouter) — Document text is sent to these providers for translation. We use their API services, which typically do not retain input data for training purposes.
• Supabase — Authentication, database, and file storage
• Stripe — Payment processing and subscription management
• Vercel — Website hosting and serverless functions
• Google Analytics — Anonymous usage analytics (see Cookies section below)

5. Cookies & Tracking

TransDocs uses minimal cookies:

• Essential cookies — Required for authentication and session management. These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies — Google Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated data about page views and feature usage. No personally identifiable information is tied to these cookies.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting technologies. We do not sell data to advertisers.

6. Data Retention

• Uploaded PDFs — Deleted immediately after text extraction (processed in-memory only)
• Translated files — Stored temporarily for download, then automatically deleted
• Translation metadata (language pair, page count, status) — Retained as long as your account is active
• Account data — Retained until you delete your account or request deletion
• Payment records — Retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your translation history
• Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time

8. Children's Privacy

TransDocs is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
